Critical Illness Insurance
What is Critical Illness Insurance? Insurance that pays lump sum benefits for critical illness’s such as cancer or having a heart attack. See the chart below for illness’s covered under Assurity’s Simplified Critical Illness Plan.
Why Should I have Critical Illness Insurance? Rising health insurance premiums have caused most people to increase their deductible and co-insurance. This leaves you vulnerable financially in the event of a critical illness. You not only have to deal with the medical expenses not covered by your health insurance, but also things such as lost wages from you and possibly your spouse and travel expenses.
Where did the original idea of Critical Illness insurance come from? It was the idea of renowned heart surgeon. He noticed after major heart surgery many of his patients were having trouble recovering, not because of anything physical but because of the stress financially they were going through.
