Here are some tips to keep in mind while viewing your Health Insurance Quotes. These quotes are pulling together a lot of information. Please be patient while the quotes load. 1. Cheapest doesn't mean best- The quotes will be listed in order by premium amount going from lowest premium to highest premium. Most people should start looking about halfway down the list. The reason being the cheapest plans usually aren't your best value option. The coverage you lose isn't worth the amount you save on monthly premiums.
2. Use the Limit Plan feature located at the top of your quotes. This option allows you to narrow your choices by plan type, deductible, copay, carrier, and co-insurance. Each carrier offers many plan design choices. Even though I have eliminated the most unpopular choices from being viewed, the number of options can still cause confusion.  Reducing the number of quotes will make it much easier to compare plans.
3. Use the Compare Feature -You can view detailed descriptions of up to 4 plans side by side. Simply check the box on the left side of up to 4 plans and click on any Compare link.
4. Avoid hitting the back button while filling in fields with dropdown lists.  Doing this will cause the form to reset, wiping out any info you’ve entered.
5. Premiums for individual insurance plan premiums are usually affected by a person’s height and weight. For example- a person who with a high body mass (combination of height and weight) might be charged a higher premium because of increases in the chance for a serious and expensive health issues such as a heart attack or stroke. Some of the carries will factor the amount listed in the height and weight and whether you smoke or not into the quote. If you get quotes where it doesn't ask for the height and weight, the premiums you see will be based on an preffered height and weight. This means they may not be as accurate as quotes factoring in your height and weight. Remeber Health Insurance Premiums are fixed by law and your premium will be the same no matter who you buy your policy through. Getting the most accurate quote benefits you by painting a more realistic picture of what your premium will end up being.
